For Caregivers
Applying for a custom search gives you peace of mind knowing that you will be connecting with parents who are ready to hire a caregiver tailored specific to your job requirements.
Q: Do you conduct background checks?
Background checks are offered a la carte via our recommended background check companies who are experts in the field. We also have firm requirements that we expect every caregiver to meet before they are invited into our program. In addition, we contact the caregiver's references and conduct interviews.
Q: What types of positions do you fill?
We place live out caregivers for the following job types:
Nannies
Newborn Care
Nannyshares
Household Managers
Special Needs Care
Mother’s Helpers
Babysitters
Temporary & Long Term Care
Q: How much does your service cost?
Our services are always complimentary for our caregivers. However, parents pay a one-time fee for our custom searches. Those fees can be found on each city's For Families Page.
Q: What areas do you service?
We currently service the Boston, MA and Charlotte, NC areas.
Q: Do you plan on having more parent/caregiver networking mixers?
Please check our Event Page for more details on upcoming events.
Q: Do you offer repeat customer discounts for parents?
Yes, we always offer our repeat customers 15% off their one-time search fee.
Q: I have a friend that could also benefit from your services. How do I get them in touch with you?
We would love to assist your friend with either finding a position or securing a caregiver for his or her family. Please have them contact us directly. Our contact information can be found on the Contact page of this site.
Q: I am looking for a housekeeper and a pet sitter. Can you help me find someone to fill these jobs?
While our caregivers can assist with household duties such as cleaning, errand running and much more, all of our positions have to have at least a childcare component to them to be part of our program.
Q: How long does the custom search process take and how do I get started?
The average search time takes about 10 - 12 business days. Please contact your city community manager directly by visiting our Contact Page. We will then issue you an invoice/agreement form and a thorough question sheet to complete. We will then follow up with a consultation and then start your search once we have received your signed invoice/agreement form, your completed question sheet and your full payment.
Q: When should I start my search?
We recommend starting a search about 1.5 to 2 months prior to your intended start date. Starting too early can work against you because you want to open your search up to as many caregivers that share your same start date. If you are looking for care immediately, please also contact us because we would be happy to help.
Q: What should I expect to pay my caregiver?
The beauty of working with Personally Paired is that we can connect you with caregivers that are within a rate range that you feel comfortable with.
We would be more than happy to provide you with competitive rates ranges that would be suited for your specific position and location.
Q: What is included in the Personally Paired Portfolio?
Each family participating in a custom search will receive a custom Personally Paired Portfolio. This resourceful book contains follow up interview tips, questions, and helpful hiring practices. It also includes all resumes, availability calendars, bios, words from references, contact information etc. for the caregivers that match your needs.
Q: Can I share my Personally Paired Portfolio with a friend?
To protect the confidentiality of our caregivers, you are not permitted to share your e-portfolio with others. We always encourage you to tell your friends about our services and would be happy to assist them with their individual needs.
Q: Do you offer any guarantees?
Your one time fee covers the placement of a caregiver in your household. In the unforeseen event (and very rare occasion) that your hired caregiver doesn't work out within the first three months of his/her start date for the Charlotte area or within the first six months of his/her start date for the San Diego and Boston areas, we will provide you with a replacement at no additional cost. If your caregiver doesn't work out after those points, then you would be charged for another search with a 15% repeat customer discount should you wish to proceed with us again.
Q: Do you have a cancellation policy?
If you cancel your search for any reason prior to receiving your first application sheet then we will reimburse you 100%. If you cancel your search for any reason after receiving one or more application sheets you will be entitled to an 80% refund. We will retain 20% of the one-time fee for labor costs.
Q: How do I find out about and apply to your positions?
Once you are invited into our program (see question above) you will be added to our e-database and will be notified of new positions as they come available. If you are interested in applying to a position, please reach out to your city manager directly. Our contact information can be found on the Contact Page.
We will then conduct a follow up interview to go over that particular position and we will also need to speak to recent references. After that process is complete, and we determine that you are a match for that family then we will include you in their Portfolio. The family will then be in touch you with you directly to conduct a follow up interview.
Q: What is the benefit of working with Personally Paired to find a position?
As a member of our program we will work on your behalf as an advocate for you in finding a position that fits your specific needs. We treat all of our caregivers as professionals and provide support and direction when needed. Additionally, our services are complimentary for caregivers.
